Continued strong performance for IDA so far this year
After celebrating a record year in 2015, IDA Ireland is continuing to be one of the strongest performers in Europe in the foreign direct investment sector with a strong first half of 2016.
The organisation, which works with over 1,200 overseas companies, has released its figures for the first half of 2016, showing it is on track to equal last year’s strong performance.

- 9,100 jobs will be created as a result of investments approved by IDA in the first half of 2016, compared with 9,000 for the same period in 2015
- 115 investments have been secured so far this year, compared with 110 for the same period in 2015

2015 Annual Report
IDA also released its annual report for 2015, showing a record year in which it announced the highest level of employment at client companies in its 67 year history. 18,983 jobs were announced last year, bring to 187,056 the number of those employed in oversees companies. The majority of those jobs (53%) were created outside of Dublin. 213 investments were approved and €1.23bn was invested in RD&I.
