Learn how to maximise energy efficiency

Energy costs are one of the biggest cost concerns for small businesses in Ireland; monitoring and controlling energy usage in a business is a useful way significantly increase your profits. SEAI provides a range of free training courses to businesses of different sizes to help them to learn how to can reduce energy costs and improve energy management. Included in these programmes are free assessments and one-to-one advice and mentoring from an appointed Energy Advisor

Looking to invest in energy efficient equipment?

If your business is looking to invest in new equipment, it may be worthwhile considering energy efficient equipment.

The Accelerated Capital Allowances scheme provides a tax incentive which allows companies to write off 100% of the purchase value of certain energy efficient equipment against their profit in the year of purchase.

Funding for renewable energy and low carbon technologies

In order to enhance and support sustainable energy research, the SEAI runs an Energy RD&D Programme, which this year is worth €1 million. The programme is open to public and private sector companies based in Ireland, and is open to a wide range of proposal types including research, feasibility studies, field-research, and technology RD&D.  

This year, the SEAI Energy RD&D Programme is running two rounds of applications for R&D projects; the second round opens May 1st.
