Useful statistics to know this week

A relatively quiet week for numbers although stats show Ireland is becoming increasingly popular with American tourists, and the continued increase in house prices.

Just over 2.4m people visited Ireland this July, August and September

  • To be exact, 2,440,400 people visited our shores during Quarter 3 this year
  • That’s 179,400 (7.9%) more than last year
  • 922,600 were from the UK, the largest number of the visitors but the biggest increase, 18.1%, was in US visitors

Residential property prices continue to climb in September

  • Compared with last September, residential property prices were 15% higher. In Dublin prices were 23.4% higher
  • However, these prices are still 39.9% lower than the peak of the boom

Monthly factory gate prices increase slightly in September

  • Monthly factory gate prices increased by 1.2% in September 2014. Last year these prices fell by 0.2% in September
  • These prices are 0.6% lower than September last year
