Useful stats this week

This week saw positive stats released for the retail and tourism industries and further increases in house prices across the country.

11.9% increase in retail sales in April 2015 compared to same period last year

  • The volume of retail sales increased by 0.5% compared with March
  • Department stores and food, beverages & tobacco saw the biggest increase in the month

Between February and April 1,778,600 trips were made to Ireland

  • In the same period 1,456,100 trips overseas were taken.
  • Trips to Ireland were 13.5% higher than the same period last year while trips overseas were up 8.2%

Residential Property Prices increased by 0.6% in April

  • In Dublin there was an increase of 1% while the rest of the country saw an increase of 0.3%
  • Annually Dublin prices were 20.2% higher while outside Dublin there was an increase of 11.4%
