Minister Deenihan to introduce Brian Ború lecture at The Little Museum of Dublin

23rd April 2014 - Jimmy Deenihan T.D., Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht will this evening introduce a lecture entitled ‘A thousand years after the Battle of Clontarf - the events of that extraordinary day in Irish history’ at The Little Museum of Dublin, 15 St. Stephen's Green, Dublin 2.

Dr. Cathy Swift, the Head of Irish Studies in Mary Immaculate College, Limerick will give the lecture, which forms part of the Dublin Lectures Series 2014.

Speaking ahead of the event, Minister Deenihan said:

“In the week of the commemorations of the Battle of Clontarf and on the anniversary of the accepted date of the battle, it is appropriate that this lecture is taking place this evening. I know that Dr Swift is very passionate about this subject and I have no doubt that her address this evening will captivate and entertain the attendees, as we learn more about this most elusive and interesting historical icon and the complex series of events which led to the battle which occurred 1000 years ago today.”
