Saturday, May 26th 2014: Jimmy Deenihan TD, Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, will this evening at 5.30 p.m. launch Na Píobairí Uilleann Pipers Choice DVD Volume 7 in the Listowel Arms Hotel, Listowel, Co. Kerry.

Pipers Choice, Volume 7, features three of Ireland’s leading uilleann pipers, Ciarán Mac Fheidhlimidh, Leo Rickard and Eoin Ó Riabhaigh. This new DVD will bring the music of these leading pipers to aspiring students and also to audiences everywhere to simply listen to and enjoy.

Speaking in advance of the launch, Minister Deenihan commented:

"In recent years, Na Piobairí Uilleann have made very significant progress with many projects including significant expansion of its piping tuition of uilleann piping around the country and indeed internationally. I was delighted to open the PipeCraft training centre back in 2012 and the 10 full time students there have made terrific progress and will return to their communities around Ireland to work as accomplished pipemakers. I wish to pay tribute to the virtuosity and generosity of the pipers on the Piper’s Choice 7 DVD, three of our greatest exponents of the uilleann pipes, for continuing to assist with mentoring and developing young people and ensuring the future of this great tradition."
