Minister Naughten announces recent appointments to the Board of SEAI

Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment, Mr Denis Naughten TD, has recently appointed two new members, Ms Ann Markey and Mr Andrew Ennis, to the Board of the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI).

The SEAI was established as Ireland's national energy authority under the Sustainable Energy Act 2002. SEAI's mission is to play a leading role in transforming Ireland into a society based on sustainable energy structures, technologies and practices.

Speaking on the appointments Minister Naughten said "I am very pleased to appoint both Ann and Andrew to the Board of SEAI. I believe that their range of experience will strengthen the expertise of the Board and further equip the SEAI as it further continues to move Ireland towards a more energy efficient and decarbonised future”.

The appointments are for a period of five years effective from 14 July 2017.

All appointees were selected following a competitive selection process run by the Public Appointments Service (PAS) on stateboards.ie.

Ms Ann Markey
Ann Markey is business advisor in her own consultancy firm in relation to finances/business matters. Ms Markey was previously head of Finance for a number of ESB businesses and is a board member/Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee, Digital Hub Development Agency, since June 2016.

Mr Andrew Ennis
Andrew Ennis is Renewables Director of Bartra Capital Property Management. He was previously
Senior Corporate Finance Advisor of the NewERA Unit of NTMA and was also Director of NCB Corporate Finance(now part of Investec Ireland).
