Taoiseach at British Irish Council in London

Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Energy Minister Pat Rabbitte were in London today for a meeting of the British-Irish Council at Lancaster House.  The meeting focused mainly on the economic situation as well as an all-islands-approach to energy matters.

The Taoiseach also held bilateral meetings with British Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg and Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond.

This is the first meeting of the Council since the new Government was formed, and since the recent elections in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
