Taoiseach to travel to Boston today for a series of engagements

• Taoiseach will lay wreath at Copley Square.

• Taoiseach will receive honorary doctorate from Boston College.

Later today he will attend a function at the JFK Library to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of President Kennedy's 1963 visit to Ireland, at which he will address an audience of politicians and business people on the strength of US-Ireland relations.

On Sunday the Taoiseach will lay a wreath at the memorial to those who were killed or injured in the Boston Marathon bombing last month.

On Monday morning the Taoiseach will attend a business breakfast event organised jointly by IDA and Enterprise Ireland where he will promote Ireland as a location for trade, business and investment.

Later on Monday the Taoiseach will be at Boston College where he will be presented with an honorary doctorate. He has also been invited to give the commencement address to over 3,000 students of the graduating class of 2013. The event, which marks the 150th anniversary of Boston College, will take place in the college football stadium, with an attendance of over 20,000.
