Minister McEntee welcomes the launch of guide : Know Your Rights: A Guide for Older People

The Minister for Mental Health and Older People, Helen McEntee T.D, has welcomed the launch of the guide : Know Your Rights: A Guide for Older People.

This guide is the seventh in a series of booklets published by The Irish Council for Civil Liberties under the Know Your Rights public information project. The guide is designed to provide older people, their representatives, as well as community and voluntary organisations with useful and easy to understand information on a wide range of topics relevant to older people.
Speaking at the launch the Minister said that “The Positive Ageing movement reminds us that our later years can be a time of new beginnings and of new possibilities and I am very aware that a good quality of life and maximising independence is what we must work to achieve. Access to good quality advice and information is very important in helping older people become aware of key services and opportunities for social and leisure activities. I wish everyone involved in the Know Your Rights Project continued success in supporting and empowering people with the tools and information to protect and inform themselves”.
