Taoiseach Leo Varadkar today opened Google’s Cloud office at the Velasco Building. This is Google’s 7^th premises in Dublin, where the company employs 7,000 people.

Speaking at the launch, An Taoiseach said:

The most important thing is that it provides really good employment for people.

There are 7,000 people now working for Google in Ireland. It also speaks to Ireland’s place in the world and the strength of our economy that companies like Google want to base their European operations here in Dublin.

Google’s EMEA HQ in Dublin was established in 2003 and is now the largest Google office outside the US.
