Grant increase of €77,673 approved by Minister of State Kyne for Halla Naomh Fionnán, Falcarragh

Seán Kyne TD, Government Chief Whip and Minister of State for the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands today (23 November) announced that he has approved a grant increase of up to €77,673 for the Falcarragh Development Committee, Co. Donegal, to assist with the proposal to carry out work on the new community centre, Halla Naomh Fionnán.

Announcing this grant, the Minister of State said: "I am delighted to make this grant available to provide a new community centre for the people of the Falcarragh. They’ve done great work to ensure that such a facility is available in the area. It has been completed to a high standard and the people of the region will benefit greatly from it in the years ahead. With the development of community facilities of this kind, practical efforts are being made by the Gaeltacht community to secure the Irish language for the next generation."

This grant is being approved in accordance with the commitment made in relation to the Community and Language Supports Programme under Action 2.22 of the Government Action Plan 2018-2022 for the Irish Language, launched in June 2018.
