Grant of up to €175,000 approved by Minister of State Kyne to CLG na Gaeltachta build a new football pitch in Gallarus, Co. Kerry

Seán Kyne TD, Government Chief Whip and Minister of State for the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands today (5 December) announced that he has approved a grant of up to €175,000 or 80% of the total cost, whichever is less, to CLG na Gaeltachta, Co. Kerry, to build a new pitch and car park in Gallarus.
Funding has been approved to CLG na Gaeltachta to build a new football pitch and car park as their current pitch cannot currently meet the huge demand placed upon it. The club had to close the pitch last summer in order to preserve the surface for the bigger club games.
"I am delighted to approve this grant to this long-running club," said Minister of State Kyne. "The club badly needs better facilities for its male and female teams, not to mention all the school children, summer colleges and summer camps. Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta will take place here next year and there will be excellent facilities in place for the participating teams in one of the country’s most beautiful areas. "
This grant is being approved in accordance with the commitment made in relation to the Community and Language Supports Program under Action 2.22 of the Government Action Plan 2018-2022 for the Irish Language, launched in June 2018.
