Great work highlighted by Chambers Ireland Corporate Social Responsibility Awards – Minister Kyne

Minister of State for Rural and Community Development, Sean Kyne, T.D., acknowledged the importance of Chambers Ireland’s Corporate Social Responsibility awards in highlighting the great work being carried out by so many in the business world for the benefit of both business and the community at large.

These CSR awards, which are supported by the Department of Rural and Community Development, recognise the companies that have gone that extra mile in enhancing their local community, their local environment and their workplace.

These awards offer the business community a prestigious platform on which to promote their CSR efforts and gain recognition for best practice. Minister Kyne fully recognises the valuable work being carried out by Irish and multinational companies to enhance the civic environment and improve the lives of their employees and the broader community in which they operate.

“The principles of CSR fit very well with my own Department’s objectives of promoting and supporting the sustainable and inclusive development of communities” the Minister said,

“Ireland’s second National Plan on Corporate Social Responsibility 2017-2020, launched by the Tánaiste last June, sets out a vision that Ireland will be recognised as a Centre of Excellence for responsible and sustainable business practice through the implementation of best practice in CSR. Through the impressive work carried out by business of all sizes in Ireland, celebrated through awards such as the CSR awards, we are already some way along the road to achieving this ambition.

“My Department’s on-going support of these awards is a practical example of the way that Government can assist with the development of CSR. We recognise the significant contribution that CSR makes across the spectrum of Government priorities and will continue to support this important initiative”
