The Minister for Justice and Equality, Charlie Flanagan TD, has welcomed the fourth report of the Effectiveness and Renewal Group (ERG) for the Department of Justice and Equality.

The report, which was considered by Government this week, documents progress on the major transformation underway in the Department.

The ERG, which was established by Government in January 2018 to monitor and guide change within the Department, concluded that the Department has continued to be fully engaged on the transformation programme, with considerable measures carried out to date. The group expressed its confidence that the Department will successfully deliver the transformation within the recommended timeframe.

Minister Flanagan said: “This report provides continued assurance that the transformation underway in my Department will be successfully completed by the target date of October 2019.  I commend the enthusiasm and commitment of the Department’s leadership and staff in delivering this important change, which I strongly support.”

“I would again like to thank the Effectiveness and Renewal Group for their continued dedication and for agreeing to remain in place until the programme is complete”.

The Group’s next report to Government is due later this month.
