Minister Madigan congratulates 2018 IFTA nominees

Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht Josepha Madigan, T.D., has today extended her congratulations to all those nominated in the 2018 IFTA Film & Drama Awards (IFTAs).

The IFTAs celebrate the highest standard of Irish talent over the past twelve months. All IFTA’s categories have been shortlisted by Members of the Irish Film & Television Academy’s fourteen chapters alongside a select Jury panel of industry experts from around the world.

Speaking today Minister Madigan said “The IFTA ceremony is an excellent vehicle for highlighting the diversity and talent of our filmmaking community. It is firmly established as the platform for celebrating all that is good about Irish television and cinema. The positive publicity surrounding these Awards provides a great opportunity to showcase ‘Irish talent at its best’, whetting the public appetite and leading to an appreciation for Irish audio-visual productions. I would like to wish all of the nominees the very best of luck on the night – I am sure it will be a wonderful occasion”.

The ceremony will take place at the Round Room in the Mansion House on 15 February; will be hosted by Deirdre O’Kane.
