Minister Naughten announces appointment of Ms. Kate Ruddock to the Board of the SEAI

Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment, Denis Naughten T.D., has appointed Ms Kate Ruddock to the Board of the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) for a period of 5 years.
The SEAI is the State agency charged with implementing energy efficiency programmes on behalf of the Department. SEAI's mission is to play a leading role in transforming Ireland into a society based on sustainable energy structures, technologies and practices. To fulfil this mission SEAI aims to provide well-timed and informed advice to Government and deliver a range of programmes efficiently and effectively, while engaging and motivating a wide range of stakeholders and showing continuing flexibility and innovation in all activities.
Minister Naughten said “I am delighted to appoint Ms Ruddock to the Board of SEAI. I believe this appointment will add greatly to the expertise available to the Board as it oversees the implementation of the strategic mandate of SEAI.”

Biography of Appointee
Kate Ruddock has served in a number of environmental positions, currently working as deputy Director of Friends of the Earth. She has also worked as an environmental Educator and consultant in both Ireland and overseas.
