Minister of State Kyne sanctions grant of €154,800 to CLG Thuar Mhic Éadaigh, Co. Mayo

Seán Kyne T.D., Government Chief Whip and Minister of State for the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands announced today, 22 November 2018, that he has sanctioned a grant of €154,800 to help with the premises that has been built at Páirc Naomh Muire, Tuar Mhic Éadaigh, Co. Mayo.

 

Announcing this grant, Minister of State Kyne said that he was very happy to make this grant available. “Cumann Peile Thuar Mhic Éadaigh is a very active club and it is important that such a facility is available in Gaeltacht areas to ensure that the people of the area, especially the young people, have every opportunity to preserve and promote the Irish language.”

 

This grant has been sanctioned in accordance with the pledge given in the Community and Language Supports Programme under act 2.22 of the Government’s Action Plan 2018-2022 for the Irish Language which was launched in June 2018.
