Ministers pay tribute to Liam Miller

Minster for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Shane Ross TD and Minister of State for Tourism and Sport, Brendan Griffin TD, today paid tribute to Liam Miller who sadly passed away late last night.

Speaking after the news Minister Ross said: “I was truly saddened to hear of Liam Miller’s passing, my thoughts are with his family at this time. Liam was so young and it is devastating for his family, friends and colleagues to have lost him so early in life. Liam was full of courage on and off the field, and we can see from the emotional tributes that he gave joy and inspiration to so many. He was a magnificent role model who will be sorely missed. Our deepest condolences to his wife Clare, children, Kory, Leo and Belle, his extended family and friends at this tragic time.”

Minister Griffin added: “We were all shocked to hear the news of Liam’s illness, and it is with great sadness now that we hear of his untimely passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with Liam’s wife Clare, and his family and friends. He brought passion to the game and his sport and we can see through all the fitting tributes that he left an impression in all the places in played. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.”
