NEI Establishes Integration & Support Operations Centre in Galway

Galway – Tuesday, April 26, 2011 – Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton TD announced today that NEI (NASDAQ: NEI), a leading provider of application platforms, deployment solutions and lifecycle support services for technology software developers and OEMs worldwide, is establishing a manufacturing facility and technology support centre in Galway. The company employs approximately 250 people worldwide and anticipates the creation of over 50 new positions in Galway with the support of IDA Ireland. Recruitment is already underway.

The Galway facility enables NEI to more efficiently meet worldwide demand for its products, deliver comprehensive global logistics and offer technology support services to customers serving markets abroad.

Making the announcement today, Minister Bruton said, “Today’s announcement of 50 jobs by NEI is a further boost for the region and indeed for the economy as a whole, and a great vote of confidence in our competitiveness and our skilled workforce by a leading US technology company.

“If we are going to get through our difficulties, and if we are going to retain and create large numbers of skilled jobs, we will have to build on our strengths as a destination for foreign direct investment. Today’s announcement shows that our traditional strengths are still there. However if we are going to grow from this and become an economic success story again, we will have to consolidate and develop new strengths.

“I, together with my colleagues across government, am developing plans to ensure that costs are driven down so that our competitiveness becomes a major selling point again; to ensure that our workforce leads the class in its education and skill level, particularly in high-end technology; and that business has all the support it needs to thrive, in terms of improved infrastructure, reduced red tape and other targeted supports.”

“The Ireland facility is part of NEI’s growth strategy and expansion into Europe,” said Greg Shortell, CEO of NEI. “Ireland offers a great place from which to do business with its ease of access to Europe, an increasingly competitive environment and a highly skilled and talented workforce. I would also like to acknowledge the support of IDA Ireland, which has worked closely with us on establishing this strategic operation for NEI.”

Welcoming the announcement, IDA Ireland CEO Barry O’Leary said “NEI is a very welcome addition to the ICT ecosystem in Ireland and will provide excellent employment opportunities in the West region in manufacturing and technical support activities.”

NEI’s Galway capabilities, services and processes will be identical to and fully integrated with those of its U.S.-based facilities located in Canton, Massachusetts and Plano, Texas. By bringing NEI’s high-quality manufacturing processes, logistics and global support services to the international marketplace, NEI expects to better help customers succeed globally.
