Minister Flanagan visits PSNI Station at Tennent Street, North Belfast

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Charlie Flanagan T.D., this evening visited the PSNI station at Tennent Street, off the Crumlin Road in North Belfast, as part of his visit to Belfast today.

Following his visit and meeting with officers at the PSNI station, Minister Flanagan said:

"I came to Tennent Street tonight to express solidarity with those who work here, at times under difficult circumstances, and to express support for the work they do amongst the wider community of North Belfast and in the interests of all the people of this island.

"The recent criminal and reckless attempt to kill an officer based at this station was a reminder of the challenges which the two police services on this island face as they work to keep us safe.

"I was pleased to be able to thank in person the brave men and women of the PSNI in Tennent Street this evening for their ongoing contribution to making this island a safer place for us all to live, work and raise our families."
