Minister launches public consultation on the Independent Review of Airport Charges Regulation in Ireland

The Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Shane Ross, TD, has today launched a public consultation on airport charges regulation in Ireland. This follows the publication of an independent review, carried out by Indecon Economic Consultants, in line with an undertaking given in the National Aviation Policy (NAP), published last August.

The review and the public consultation are intended to frame the future policy and implementation of airport charges in Ireland. Submissions are invited from all relevant stakeholders over the coming weeks and the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport proposes, following the consultation process, to prepare a policy statement on airport charges for submission to Government before the end of 2016.

The report and an accompanying consultation document, along with details of how to make a submission, are available on the website of the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport:

The closing date for submissions is 17:00, Friday, 29 July 2016.

In line with established practice for public consultation and subject to considerations of confidentiality, submissions will be published on the Department’s website and are subject to Freedom of Information legislation.
