Minister Helen McEntee to take part in the Financial Times virtual Conference “The Global Boardroom”

Minister of State for European Affairs, Helen McEntee T.D., will take part in the Financial Times’ two-day virtual conference, “The Global Boardroom”. The conference looks to analyse the impact of the pandemic across global economies, industries and markets, and to discuss the global approach to the recovery.

Speaking ahead of the conference, Minister of State for European Affairs, Helen McEntee, T.D. said:

I am looking forward to the opportunity to speak on the effects the pandemic has had on the EU and its Member States and to highlight the measures the EU has adopted in response to the coronavirus pandemic. I will also explain how the EU has assisted in the repatriation of citizens, is ensuring citizens receive assistance from governments during this crisis, and is framing the exit strategies across the Union.
I will highlight Ireland’s role in the EU’s response to the pandemic, including Ireland’s support for the adoption of the EU’s crisis response package and ongoing work on an EU recovery fund.

It’s important that we continue to find innovative ways to debate and analyse international policy-making at a time when foreign travel cannot take place.

Minister McEntee’s panel will be chaired by Ben Hall, Europe Editor of the Financial Times and the other participants will be Frans Muller, President and CEO, Ahold Delhaize and Andrew McDowell, Vice President of the European Investment Bank.
