The Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Shane Ross, TD, today congratulated Ireland on their effort at Men’s Hockey World Cup in India.

Minister Ross said: “I would like to commend the Irish Men’s Hockey Team on their valiant effort at the Hockey World Cup in India. As one of the lower ranked teams in the tournament Ireland can rightly feel proud of their performances this week. It was a great accomplishment to qualify for such a prestigious tournament on the back of qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio so there is a lot for this team to look forward to especially with Tokyo in mind in two years’ time.”
