The Minister for Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Heather Humphreys, has today (Friday) announced that she has appointed 8 new members to the board of the Crawford Gallery. All appointees have been vetted by the Public Appointments Service and were found to have the requisite experience to serve on the Board. The appointments are for a duration of five years.
The Minister has nominated Rose Mc Hugh as Chair of the Board. Her formal appointment will be made after she appears before the relevant Oireachtas Committee.

Josephine Browne: Head of Faculty of Enterprise and Humanities in IADT, Dun Laoghaire; Past President of Dun Laoghaire Rathdowne Chamber of Commerce; Barrister-at-law, PhD in labour law.
Catherine Hammond: Owner and Director of the Catherine Hammond Gallery, Skibbereen; former Executive Director, Cill Rialaig; extensive experience in strategic planning, fundraising and marketing in a range of cultural organisations in the US.
Karen Kelly: Development Manager, UCC; 18 years experience in blue chip organisations in UK, US, Belgium and Ireland; Member of UCC Alumni Board; Diploma in Art History.
Eamonn Maxwell: Director or Lismore Castle Arts, Waterford; former curator of the Irish Pavilion at the Venice Art Biennale with Corban Walker; MA in Museum and Gallery Management.
Rose Mc Hugh: Extensive board experience including two terms as chairperson of Bord Iascaigh Mhara; extensive corporate governance experience; former Head of Corporate Finance at Merrion Capital Group
Frank Nyhan: State Solicitor for Cork City; member of the Financial and Legal Sub-Committee of the Board of the Crawford Gallery.
Gareth O’Callaghan: Partner, JCA Architects; previously a consultant architect to the Crawford Gallery on a number of projects; Architect for new gallery at Lismore Castle.
Barrie O’Connell: President of Cork Chamber of Commerce and; Partner in Charge, KPMG Cork; Director of the Cork Foundation.
