Update from Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht on re-opening of Departmental Offices, National Parks and Nature Reserves, and National Cultural Institutions

A Status Orange Snow-ice Warning remains in place for Munster, Leinster, Cavan and Monaghan until noon on 4 March. In Connacht and Donegal, a Status Yellow Snow-ice Warning is in effect for the same period. While the Department is keeping the evolving weather situation under review, it anticipates at present that all offices will reopen and operate as usual from the Monday 5 March.

The position in relation to National Parks and Nature Reserves remains under review but all facilities remain closed at present pending a determination that they are safe to reopen.

Information on weather developments and related safety warnings will continue to be made available on www.gov.ie/stormemma and through the National Emergency Coordination Group and the Office of Emergency Planning (Twitter profile: @EmergencyIE), and national and local media. Public transport providers are also issuing updates on their services. Members of the public, and staff, should have regard to local conditions in making plans for journeys to or from the Department's offices and facilities when they reopen.
