Good Day for Consumers - Bruton

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD today [Friday] welcomed the decision by ESB Electric Ireland to extend the 4% discount to customers with existing arrears.

Minister Bruton said he was happy that ESB Electric Ireland had responded to his and others calls to reconsider their decision, which denied those most in need of access to cheaper electricity.

This is a good day for the some 150,000 consumers who would now benefit from reduced electricity costs.  When I commented on this last week I said it was an issues of fairness and equity and I am pleased that such an important company as ESB Electric Ireland has responded positively to this issue.
