Brian Hayes, Minister of State at the Department of Finance and TD for Dublin South West, today welcomed IBS-Xerox (Ireland)'s expansion of their operations with the creation of 90 skilled jobs.
IBS-Xerox (Ireland) employs close to 300 people in seven locations throughout the island of Ireland. Today’s announcement will see 50 jobs created immediately in engineering and technical support, sales and marketing. The remaining 40 posts will be filled within the next 12 to 18 months. The majority of these new jobs will be located in Dublin and Cork.
This expansion follows the consolidation of Irish Business Systems (IBS) and the majority of Xerox (Ireland) Ltd activities to create the largest supplier of managed print solutions and document management systems on the island of Ireland. Attending today's announcement at IBS-Xerox (Ireland) HQ in Cookstown, Dublin South-West, Minister Hayes paid tribute to Group Managing Director Jerry Carey,
“Jerry’s drive and sure management of first IBS and now IBS-Xerox over the past 30 years is an example to us all. It's no mean feat to first build a national brand from local beginnings, and then skilfully manage a transition to become the all-island arm of Xerox Europe. This acumen is essential kit for Irish business and entrepreneurs to successfully compete for business at national, European and international level.”
IBS-Xerox (Ireland), operating in a sector estimated to be worth in the region of €150 million per annum, aim to increase their market share by 5% over the next two years. Jerry Carey referred to how future growth will take account of developments in an evolving workplace where ‘bringing your own device to work’ is emerging as the new normal in business.
“With increasing numbers of employees printing from mobile devices such as tablets, iPads and smartphones, organisations are vulnerable to hackers and malware. We’re developing innovative solutions for our customers which provide greater systems security in an ‘always on’ world. This is a prime example of how we deliver global solutions developed by Xerox’s R&D team to the local market.”
Commenting on the rationale behind today’s jobs announcement, Jerry noted that,
“We are seeing increased demand from our large corporate clients, together with a growth in SMEs investing in new print equipment. Both are very positive signs that confidence is returning to the business sector.”
