Minister Bruton announces 34 new jobs in Galway company Advant Medical

Advant Medical expands operations with €2.4m investment programme with

support from Government

The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD, today (Friday) announced that Advant Medical, a leading provider of contract manufacturing and packaging solutions for the Minimal Invasive Vascular Market and class III implantable products and related medical device market, is to invest €2.4m in a major development programme and create 34 new jobs at its Galway plant over the next three years. This strategic investment is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through Enterprise Ireland. It will see the company expand its production capabilities and move to higher value products and services to meet increasing demand for its products, allowing it expand its existing international markets and enter new markets. The expansion will bring total employment in Advant Medical to over 130.

 

Advant Medical, based in Parkmore Industrial Estate, Galway, is a leading producer of a variety of medical device products for the minimum Invasive Vascular, Class III implantable devices, and other medical markets.  Their customers include some of the world’s largest OEMs and their products are established across 25 international markets including the USA, Mexico, Italy, Germany, France and India. Their product range includes Vascular Stent/ Balloon/Guidewire Packaging, Contract Manufacturing, packaging of Class III devices, and Vascular Access Devices.  Advant Medical provides customers with a variety of services including complete supply chain solutions, assembly, manufacturing, and final packaging in preparation for sterilisation.

Making the announcement Minister Bruton said: “A key part of the Government’s plans for jobs and growth is supporting Irish companies in gaining a greater share of the €80billion spent by multinationals here on goods and services every year. In 2013 we have targeted an additional €500million in contracts for Irish companies out of that.

“Today’s announcement that Advant Medical, a supplier to a range of leading companies, is expanding and creating 34 jobs is a sign of what is possible for Irish companies in this area. I commend Advant on their success, and I am determined to ensure that more companies can take advantage of this opportunity to create the jobs and growth we need”.
