200 permanent jobs created at National Pen, Dundalk

National Pen, a company specialising in the marketing and manufacture of promotional products, announced today that it is to create 200 permanent jobs at its International HQ in Dundalk over the next 5 years. The announcement is made with the support of the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.

The International headquarters of National Pen in Dundalk currently services 19 markets outside North America. This expansion will bring National Pen’s permanent workforce to 459 by the end of 2017. These new jobs will be created across the company in its sales, customer services, manufacturing, technical & administrative functions.

Making the announcement Taoiseach Enda Kenny said:

The creation of 200 new jobs at National Pen is fantastic news for Dundalk and the surrounding area and it demonstrates the company's commitment to Ireland. National Pen are a key export orientated company and announcements like this are a significant signal of Ireland's strengths as a location for investment - our people, our pro-business policies and our proximity to European markets. The Government, through our Action Plan for Jobs, will continue to prioritise measures which will build on the 3,000 new jobs being created by the private sector every month.

Minister Bruton said:

Today’s announcement that National Pen, a major employer in Dundalk for many years, is expanding its operations in Dundalk with the establishment of 200 permanent jobs is a great boost for Ireland and for the North East. A key part of the Government’s Action Plan for Jobs is ensuring that we support job-creation right across the country, and we have put in place measures to deliver on this including the Succeed in Ireland scheme. I am determined that, with continued strong implementation of our plans, we can see further announcements like this across all regions in the coming years.

National Pen specialises in the marketing and manufacture of promotional products. The company commenced its global expansion in 1987 with the opening of its Irish facility in Dundalk.

National Pen’s Irish operation services 19 countries globally. Countries serviced from National Pen’s Irish facility include: Germany, France, Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Ireland, UK, Portugal, Spain, Japan & South Korea.
