Bruton welcomes LRC initiative on Vita Cortex dispute

The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton, TD today [Wednesday] welcomed the confirmation that the Labour Relations Commission has today invited both parties to the dispute at the Vita Cortex factory in Cork to meet in Cork next Tuesday to clarify the facts of the situation and to explore with the parties the potential for moving forward.

The Minister’s officials engaged in continuous contact over the Christmas period with the workers’ union representatives to try to clarify the issues involved and to make them aware that the industrial relations machinery of the State was available to them to help them resolve the dispute

The Minister said "I welcome the initiative by the LRC and would urge both parties to engage constructively in the process. I am pleased that dialogue between the parties to the dispute has now been facilitated".
