Minister Brendan Howlin is travelling to Dalian, China to attend the World Economic Forum ‘Annual Meeting of the New Champions’.
The meeting will be attended by political and business leaders and is the foremost global business gathering in Asia.
The Minister will use his time in Dalian to build on the work he has previously undertaken in the ASEAN region during visits to Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines.
Speaking before his departure, the Minister said, “During this trip to Dalian, I will continue to take every opportunity to promote trade, investment and tourism in Ireland and tell the story of our recovery.”
Minister Howlin is participating in a number of events on the programme on prevailing global economic matters. These include sessions entitled “Creating the Next Frontiers of Growth” and “Innovation to Bridge the Knowledge Gap and Share Competitiveness”
A wide range of meetings and networking opportunities have been organized so as to fully utilize the visit.
