Minister Perry launches SourceDogg.com PhD Scholarship in Procurement in DCU

Minister for Small Business, John Perry announced the launch of the SourceDogg.com PhD Scholarship for Excellence in Procurement Research in the Centre for Executive Education in DublinCityUniversity. The successful candidates will receive fees funded by DCU and a €20,000 stipend for associated expenses from SourceDogg.com. The scholarship relates to the research area of procurement.

Minister Perry said “The PhD Scholarship in Procurement Research which is funded by DCU and SourceDogg.com is an excellent example of a small Irish company partnering with a leading academic institution to allow a graduate the opportunity to complete world class research on the socially important area of Procurement.

SourceDogg.com is an example of the type of ambitious indigenous entrepreneurship required to drive job creation.  It is very encouraging for me, as the Minister for Small Business, to see an Irish SME competing with large international players in their sector and winning market share.

It is partnerships like these that are key to ensuring that the ‘Innovation Revolution’ which we are aiming for in Government, becomes a reality in the enterprise economy.”

Dr. Paul Davis, Lecturer in Strategic Procurement atDublinCityUniversityis a global leader in the area of procurement and will be supervising the successful candidate selected for the SourceDogg.com PhD Scholarship.

SourceDogg.com provides procurement software that makes it cheaper and more efficient to source suppliers globally. The company has a range of clients across a wide range of sectors, which include healthcare, hospitality/entertainment, manufacturing, retail, services and transport and logistics. SourceDogg.com is continuing to expand its operations, they announced the creation of 80 jobs earlier this year in their Galway andDublinoffices.
