Minister Cannon congratulates Galway’s 3,195 Junior Certificate Students

The Minister of State for Training and Skills, Ciarán Cannon T.D., has congratulated the 3,195 students in Galway who are receiving their Junior Certificate results today.

Last June, 1,599 female and 1,596 male students sat the exams in Galway.

Minister Cannon said, “The Galway students receiving their results today should be proud of their achievements, and use the experience as a foundation as they move onto the next stage in their education.

“As Minister for Training and Skills, I hope that Junior Certificate students will continue to engage with our education system, to equip themselves with the skills and knowledge to fulfil their full potential.”

This year, a total 59,823 students sat their Junior Cert across the country, an increase from 58,798 students in 2012.

The Minister concluded by thanking families and teachers for their support of the students, saying that they were an important factor in today’s results.
