Minister Quinn opens €7m extension at Enniscorthy Vocational College

The Minister for Education and Skills, Ruairí Quinn T.D., today officially opened the €7 million extension and refurbishment at Enniscorthy Vocational College, Co Wexford.

The two-story extension has classrooms, multi media learning laboratories/language laboratories, two new science laboratories, a library, an engineering technology room, construction studies, home economics and art rooms.

Enniscorthy Vocational College has 425 second-level students and 308 PLC students, and staffing complement of 80.

Speaking at the school, the Minister said: "I’m delighted to be here in Enniscorthy to open this wonderful extension."

“I would like to take this opportunity to extend my best wishes to all involved who’ve worked so hard to bring this project to completion, the principal, Seamus Murphy, his staff, parents and the wider community.”

He also commended the chairman of the Board of Management, Morgan Dunne, “who has given over 40 years service to Co Wexford VEC and, in particular, to Enniscorthy Vocational College."

Later in the day, Minister Quinn will open two more schools in Co Wicklow.
