Minister Quinn launches review of International Education Strategy

The Minister for Education and Skills, Ruairí Quinn T.D., has today launched a public consultation process as part of a review of Investing in Global Relationships: Ireland’s International Education Strategy.

Launching the public consultation process today, Minister Quinn said “International education remains a sector with major potential for Ireland.

“The Government has made significant progress in delivering the current strategy in partnership with the education sector. This has yielded strong results, including growth in international student numbers.

“Our new action plan will set the agenda for this sector for the coming years so I would encourage everyone with an interest to contribute to the process”.

The Action Plan for Jobs 2013 indicated that a short, focussed review of the international education strategy would be carried out by the Department of Education and Skills. The outcome of the review will be a new Government action plan for the promotion of international education, which will be published by the end of 2013.
