Minister Coveney congratulates Irish Defence Forces on People Of The Year Award
Minister for Defence, Mr. Simon Coveney T.D. has today extended his congratulations to the Naval Service who on behalf of Óglaigh na hÉireann, were awarded a People of the Year Award last night.
Commenting on the award the Minister said 'I along with many other Irish people, are very proud of our Defence Forces and the work they do. In particular, this award is in recognition of the work that has been done by our Navel Service in the Mediterranean. Over 8,000 people have been rescued since this operation began in May this year’.
