Tánaiste launches video on Irish-British relationship ahead of State Visit

Tánaiste & Foreign Affairs Minister Eamon Gilmore today launched a video on the relationship between Ireland and Britain ahead of the State Visit of President Higgins to the United Kingdom.

The short video was developed by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Fáilte Ireland in partnership with other Government Departments and State agencies.

Launching the video, the Tánaiste said:

This visit marks another very special moment in the relationship between our countries. This video is another way of celebrating that moment, and a relationship that just keeps getting better at every level - politically, economically and culturally.

It shows that this is not only an important official occasion and an event that cements our relationship with our nearest neighbour and most important trading partner, but that it is also something that means a lot to people on both sides of the Irish Sea at a very personal level. It is those personal connections that make everything else possible.
