Taoiseach to attend the British Irish Council Summit

Taoiseach Enda Kenny will attend the British Irish Council Summit meeting today in Magee College, Derry, hosted by the Northern Ireland Executive First Minister Peter Robinson and the deputy first Minister Martin McGuinness. Nick Clegg, British Deputy Prime Minister, Alex Salmond, Scottish First Minister and Carwyn Jones, Welsh First Minister will also be attending.

The BIC meeting will receive a presentation from the Derry-London Derry City of Culture Company and its year long programme of cultural events and discuss the current economic situation in the Member Administrations with a particular focus on energy costs.

A Press Conference will follow at 12.15pm.
