Taoiseach to Focus on Economic Co-operation at British-Irish Council Summit in London
The Taoiseach, Mr Enda Kenny TD, is travelling to London today for a meeting of the British-Irish Council in Lancaster House.
He will be accompanied by the Minister for Communications, Energy & Natural Resources, Mr Pat Rabbitte TD.
The main focus of the meeting will be the economic situation, while there will also be a substantive discussion on an all-islands-approach to energy matters.
This will be the first meeting of the Council since the new Government was formed, and since the recent elections in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The Taoiseach will also hold separate bilateral talks with British Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg and Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond.
The Council will also be attended by the First and deputy First Ministers of Northern Ireland, Peter Robinson and Martin McGuinness, Welsh First Minister Carwyn Jones and representatives from the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
