Taoiseach in London to meet with Prime Minister May, and present Ireland’s bid for the Rugby World Cup

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar today travels to London to meet with the British Prime Minister, Theresa May.

This will be their first meeting since the Prime Minister's speech on Brexit in Florence last Friday, and the second time they have met in Downing Street.

Their discussions will focus on Brexit, restoring the Assembly in Northern Ireland, how to maintain the Common Travel Area and protect the Peace Process, and avoid a return to any border.

The Taoiseach will also take part in Ireland’s 2023 Rugby World Cup bid to the World Rugby Council, together with the with Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Shane Ross TD.
