New Ambassadors present Credentials

Their Excellencies, the Ambassadors of Nepal, the Republic of Mozambique and the Republic of El Salvador presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.

H.E. Dr. Durga Bahadur Subedi, Ambassador of Nepal, was accompanied by his wife Mrs. Poonam Rajyalaxni Subedi and Mr. Bhupendra Prasad Ghimire, Third Secretary.

H.E. Mr. Filipe Chidumo, Ambassador of the Republic of Mozambique, was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Paula Marisa Frederico Chidumo and Mr. Omar Remane, Minister Counsellor.

H.E Mrs. Lidia Elisabeth Hayek-Weinmann, Ambassador of the Republic of El Salvador, was accompanied by her husband Mr. Wolfgang Weinmann and Ms. Adriana Mira de Pereira, Minister Counsellor.

Mr. Damien English, T.D., Minister for Housing and Urban Renewal, represented the Government at the ceremony.

The following were also present: Mr. Art O’Leary, Secretary-General to the President; Col. Michael Kiernan, Aide-de-Camp to the President; Mr. John Conlan, Assistant Secretary, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Ms. Síle Maguire, Mr. Joe Brennan, and Ms. Claire Buckley, Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of Second Lieutenant David Kelly.

A Guard of Honour was provided at Áras an Uachtaráin by the 3 Infantry Battalion, Stephens Barracks, Kilkenny under the command of Lieutenant Kevin Lanigan.

Captain John Carpenter conducted the Army No. 1 Band, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin.
