Varadkar congratulates Leinster on Heineken Cup victory

Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Leo Varadkar has congratulated Leinster on its superb win at the Heineken Cup in Twickenham this evening.

Speaking after the match Minister Varadkar said: 'The meeting this afternoon of two Irish teams in a Heineken Cup Final was an historic occasion.  Leinster came to the game as defenders of the Cup and faced an energised Ulster side at full strength. I know that among the fans, there was huge excitement in the build-up to this game, for what proved to be a mouth-watering match.  I understand that attendance at the match today was record-breaking as more than 80,000 supporters made the journey to Twickenham.

'It was great to see a complete sea of the Blue and Red, as two Irish teams in Twickenham battled to the very end. I warmly congratulate Leinster on a worthy win.'
