New Knock-Edinburgh route to boost tourist numbers
The new Ireland West (Knock) to Edinburgh route, officially launched yesterday by Minister of State Michael Ring, is another milestone for Knock Airport as it expands its network. At the launch Minister of State Ring noted,
As an island destination, direct and competitive access services are absolutely vital to the future growth of tourism to this region and to the island of Ireland as a whole. This new service will play an important role in helping us to grow visitor numbers to the West of Ireland in 2011 and beyond.
This new service is expected to bring in an additional 10,000 tourists into the region annually spending upwards of €3,000,000 in the local economy.
Flights from Ireland West Airport Knock to Edinburgh Airport will depart on Tuesday and Thursday while additional Friday and Monday flights will operate in July and August.
