The OPW - Serving our Heritage

The Office of Public Works

(OPW) is the Government Department that focuses on property maintenance, property management, architectural and engineering services, heritage services, project management and procurement services.

The focus of this feature is the OPW's heritage service, where they have the responsibility to protect and conserve Ireland's built heritage.

MerrionStreet.ie spoke to Minister of State in charge of the OPW, Brian Hayes, and asked him about the role of the OPW. We also spoke to representatives from St. Stephen's Green, St. Audoen's Church and the Pearse Museum, about the sites they represent and the work the OPW does.
