CSO Statisticians Tom McMahon and Patrick Foley present the report
Irish people's disposable income increased by over 3% between 2013 and 2014, according to new data from the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
The CSO's Survey on Income and Living Conditions (SILC) in Ireland covers a range of issues. The report, released this morning, presents results for 2014 and compares them with data from previous years.
In 2014, disposable income was €18,210, an increase of 3.8% on 2013. When adjusted for inflation, it was an increase of 3.5%.
- Other findings in the survey included:
- A slight increase in the "at risk of poverty" rate from 15.2% in 2013 to 16.3% in 2014
- Where 30.5% of the population experienced enforced deprivation in 2013, that was down to 29% in 2014
- The consistent poverty rate saw a slight dip from 8.2% in 2013 to 8% in 2014
