Dignitaries at St Ann’s Church Dublin

An inter-denominational service has taken place in Dublin to mark the assembly of the 31st Dáil.

The 166 TDs (members of parliament) who were elected in the general election of the 25th of February will this afternoon elect a new Taoiseach who will form the 29th Government of Ireland.

This morning’s service in St Ann’s Church, Dawson Street, Dublin was attended by President Mary McAleese, members of the Dáil and Seanad as well as representatives of other state organisations.
