MerrionStreet.ie Meets Team Ireland

On Wednesday the 15th, the Government hosted a reception for Ireland's Olympians in Farmleigh House.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny greeted the athletes, thanked them and their families for their efforts and spoke of his pride in them and their success.

The Taoiseach said:

To be able to compete at the highest level of sport in any one of these disciplines at Olympic level, to be called an Olympian is an extraordinary achievement for any person in whatever sphere from this country.

So welcome home everybody, welcome home all of you, you did your country proud, and today, we are so proud of every one of you.
