Minister McConalogue welcomes new members to the Board of the Irish National Stud

The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Charlie McConalogue T.D., today announced the appointment of two new Directors to the board of Irish National Stud Designated Activity company (INS DAC).

Ms. Finola O Mahony and Ms. Clodagh Cavanagh have both been appointed by Minister McConalogue.

The Minister congratulated the new directors: I am confident the backgrounds, experiences and individual skill sets of both Finola and Clodagh will bring a wealth of professional experience to the stud.”  The Minister also thanked the two outgoing Directors, Ms Jessica Harrington and Dr. Sean Brady, “for sharing their respective knowledge and skills of the Thoroughbred Industry to the benefit of the National Stud.”

Minister McConalogue said the appointments were made following a competitive selection process run by the Public Appointments Service (PAS).

Finola O Mahony: Finola has more than 20 years’ experience of marketing global brands across the world in the private sector, and over 11 years in the Irish public sector, as Head of Europe for Tourism Ireland.

Clodagh Kavanagh: Clodagh has a long association with the INS through her former role as General Manager of the Racing Academy and Centre of Education and also in her current role as Executive Director of Godolphin Flying, this is coupled with a B Agr Sc degree from UCD and an MSc in Management and Leadership.
