Taoiseach Enda Kenny has released a statement on the earthquake and Tsunami in Japan. The full text is below:
Today we awoke to the news of the tragedy unfolding in Japan, following the earthquake and tsunami there.I wish to express the solidarity of the Irish people with the people of Japan in this moment of great trial.Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost families and friends to this tragedy. I have sent a message to the Prime Minister of Japan expressing the sympathy and concern of the people of Ireland.While it is our sincere and earnest belief that the Japanese people will recover quickly and fully from this disaster, Ireland stands ready to assist our Japanese friends in any way possible.
